Rotary District 9465 is seeking a proactive person to take over the position of Chair of the Four Way Test Committee.
You will be overseeing the co-ordination of the upcoming heats and finals whilst working with an enthusiastic team. The preparatory work has been completed with 2022 Guides and Procedures finalised and distributed.
Australian charity, Rotary Australia World Community Service, today announced the creation of a national Flood Relief Appeal for people impacted by the current floods in Queensland and Northern NSW.
Australians impacted by the recent floods will be the beneficiaries of money raised by Flood Appeal and will be able to liaise with their local Rotary Club to advise of their needs.
The fundraising campaign was launched today to support the communities in need after yet another disaster impacting Australians.
“The money raised from the Appeal will go directly and quickly to support those impacted, providing essential items and financial support where Disaster relief and Insurance claims won’t stretch,” said Rotary Australia World Community Service Ltd CEO Andrew Woodward.
“The number of disasters Australians have endured in the last few years in addition to the pandemic have been significant and left a lot of people in very difficult financial positions,” Mr Woodward said.
Rotary Australia World Community Service has previously raised money for Bushfire and Drought affected areas and sees this disaster as just another where the network of Rotarians can step in to assist.
Mr Woodward said that he expects the money to help people with the things that insurance or disaster relief funds cannot replace. Whether it be helping farmers build new fences or providing food and clothing to those that have lost everything, the money raised will be crucial in helping families get back on their feet as soon as possible.
Rotary Australia World Community Service is a not-for-profit charity that aims to be the leading Australian charitable organization for people’s wellbeing, supporting Rotarians and Rotary Clubs undertaking humanitarian projects in Australia and overseas.

NEW COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP
SUPPORTING MENTAL HEALTH EDUCATION & AWARENESS IN WA
We are delighted to announce we’ve established a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Australian Rotary Health WA (ARH WA) and IGA WA, as a major initiative to support family and community health across Western Australia.
This will provide opportunities for local Rotary clubs to partner with their local IGA stores, particularly in country and regional areas of WA, where IGA stores play an important role in the local community, along with Rotary clubs where represented.
We are aware that positive community relationships already exist in a number of country and regional towns, and therefore under the cooperation of this new partnership these can be expanded to further grow the community relationship.
Where Rotary clubs and IGA stores may not have progressed a community partnership, this represents an ideal opportunity for this step to now be taken, for mental health education and awareness and related projects to support the local community.
The ARH sponsored mental health campaign, Lift the Lid on Mental Health, can provide a range of opportunities to promote community awareness, including a community based Lift the Lid Walk event.
We seek your support for this important community initiative. Together we can make a positive difference with mental health education and awareness in our local communities across WA.

"Due to the increase in COVID cases, most of our corporate partners have cancelled or postponed their booked days for reasons we understand. To add to this the demand for food assistance has increased and we are in need of volunteers to assist us with packing food hampers. The hampers will be distributed throughout the state to our branches, mobile Foodbank service and also to remote communities.
A normal day of volunteering at Foodbank Perth consists of an arrival to our Airport branch at 8:45 where we welcome the person/group and proceed with an induction about Foodbank and a safety brief. From 9 to 2pm are the hours designated to packing the hampers with a morning tea break around 10:30am and a lunch break around 12:00pm. We need as many people to perform the packing as possible. It is an excellent team building activity or a good activity to perform among friends to support our WA communities.
We have a production line with all the food to be included into the hampers and also people to assist. We practice social distancing and wear masks the whole time, the warehouse is a spacious location and highly ventilated. "
